Blend partners with DON JAR to provide Franchise opportunities to Filipinos

Jun 21, 2019

The Philippines’ fastest growing peer-to-peer (P2P) borrowing and lending platform, Blend PH has once again proven its commitment to Filipino entrepreneurs through its recent partnership deal with DON JAR FOOD CART, an increasingly popular burger chain with branches in Metro Manila and its surrounding areas.

Justin Dongallo Abejar named DON JAR after his grandmother, Maria Dongalo (Don), and his father, Jaime Abejar (Jar). His initial goal was to keep his mother Emilie Abejar occupied and busy with running a small business while they grieve the loss of two of the people closest to their hearts.

The mother-and-son duo came up with the concept of unique burgers and started running a stall in front of their house in 2015. Standouts on their menu include the Boodle Big Burgers, UFO Burger, Hugot Burgers, Papa Burger, and Millennial Burgers.

The business was an instant hit to customers, particularly on social media. The brand’s popularity online garnered them 1.5 million views, 36,000 likes, 22,000 comments, and 5,000 shares on their Facebook page alone. A year later, DON JAR took part in various franchising expos and started operating as a franchisor.

Because of this, the business got featured in ABS-CBN programs like Umagang Kay Ganda and My Puhunan, along with other local media entities such as Angat Pinoy, Bagong Pilipinas, Radyo Negosyo, and Abante News Online.

Blend embarked on this deal with DON JAR to assist small business owners who want a slice of the big burger franchising pie. This will make it easy for existing and potential franchisees to either grow their business or completely start their venture using capital loaned from the P2P platform’s diverse assortment of lenders.

Blend PH is a financial technology start-up with offices located at the heart of Ortigas Center in Pasig City. The company offers various loan options to eligible borrowers through its growing platform powered by investments crowdsourced from lenders.

Blend is currently setting its sights on the franchising market, starting with active partnerships with companies engaged the food service industry. If you’re interested in becoming a franchisee of DON JAR FOOD CART, visit https://blend.ph/ to learn more about your options.
